Work clause by clause

Understand the structure of ISO 45003:2021 from context to improvement, the UK legal framework, and how to describe alignment accurately.

Identify, assess and control

Identify psychosocial hazards using Tables 1 to 3 and the HSE Management Standards, rate and prioritise risk, run surveys that protect anonymity, and choose effective controls.

Build and run the system

Draft the core documents and a 90-day implementation plan, then measure, audit, review and improve the system in your own organisation or for a client.

About the course

Psychosocial risks, such as unmanageable workload, poor support, unclear roles, harassment and badly managed change, can harm people's mental and physical health and affect every organisation. In Great Britain, employers are already expected to assess and control work-related stress, consult their workers and prevent harassment, and the legal duties on sexual and third-party harassment strengthen from 30/10/2026. This practical, self-paced course shows you how to build and run a psychosocial risk management system aligned with ISO 45003:2021 guidance. Working clause by clause, you will learn how to understand your organisation's context, secure leadership commitment, identify hazards using the standard's three hazard tables and HSE's Management Standards, assess and prioritise risk, choose effective controls, support people back to work, protect confidentiality and measure whether it is all working. Every module includes a narrated slide lesson, a detailed handout packed with templates and checklists, a hands-on activity and a short quiz. By the end, you will have drafted the core documents and a 90-day implementation plan for your own organisation or client. The course is written for UK practice and covers the full ISO 45003 structure, from context to improvement. It is designed for about 6 hours of study across 8 modules and a final exam. Pass the final exam to receive an ISO Training Institute certificate of completion. Who this course is for: HR managers and HR business partners; health and safety managers and advisers; wellbeing leads; consultants supporting clients with health, safety and wellbeing; and management system owners. Please note: ISO 45003 is a guidance standard and there is no certification to it. The course teaches you how to build arrangements aligned with ISO 45003:2021 guidance. It is a management course, not a mental health or counselling course.
