About the course

Your managers have more influence on psychological health at work than anyone else. They decide how work is allocated, how people are treated, how change is handled, and how quickly someone who is struggling gets support. This practical online course gives them the knowledge and confidence to do that well. In about three hours, learners cover the legal duties that apply to UK employers, including health and safety, equality, working time and data protection law, and the new harassment duties that start on 30/10/2026. They learn to identify psychosocial hazards using ISO 45003:2021 and the HSE Management Standards, carry out a team risk assessment, and turn findings into actions that change the work itself. The course then builds the people skills managers need: holding supportive conversations, staying within the boundaries of their role, responding in a crisis, agreeing reasonable adjustments, and managing absence and return to work. The final module tackles workload, remote teams, conflict, bullying and harassment, third-party harassment and change. Each module includes a narrated presentation, a practical handout with templates and checklists, and a short quiz. Learners who pass the final assessment receive an ISO Training Institute certificate of completion. Who this course is for: line managers, supervisors and team leaders in any sector; HR and health and safety professionals who support managers; organisations introducing a psychosocial risk or wellbeing approach aligned with ISO 45003; and anyone who wants practical, UK-focused guidance on managing work-related stress. Please note: ISO 45003:2021 is a guidance standard and there is no certification to it. This course is educational, not clinical. It does not train managers to be counsellors or mental health first aiders.
