About the course

Everyone has a part to play in psychological health and safety at work. This practical, 1.5-hour online course gives all workers a clear, plain-English understanding of what affects mental health at work and what they can do about it. Learners find out the difference between healthy pressure and stress, and learn to spot psychosocial hazards in their own work using the three hazard groups in ISO 45003:2021 and the six HSE Management Standards areas. They learn how to recognise the signs of stress in themselves, colleagues and teams, practical ways to look after their own wellbeing, and how to support a colleague using the HSE Working Minds steps. The final module covers speaking up: bullying, harassment and sexual harassment, including the new employer duties on third-party harassment from 30 October 2026, how to raise a concern, whistleblowing protection, reasonable adjustments, sick pay and fit notes, returning to work, and confidentiality of health information. The course is self-paced, with narrated slides, downloadable handouts, short quizzes and a final assessment. Learners who pass receive an ISO Training Institute certificate of completion. The course is educational, not clinical, and signposts to support services throughout. Who this course is for: all workers in any sector, at any level, in the UK; new starters as part of induction and existing staff as a refresher; employers who want to raise awareness of psychosocial risk across their workforce; and worker representatives, Wellbeing Champions and volunteers who want a clear grounding. Please note: ISO 45003 is a guidance standard and there is no certification to it. This course is aligned with ISO 45003:2021 guidance and UK law. It is general information, not legal advice.
